Deterioration of the job done/claim/complaint

AI Highlights
  • - Re-Bath remodeled Tampa 3y ago.
  • - Tampa closed; Orlando runs it.
  • - Warranty promised; shelves detach.
  • - Caulking is moldy and turning yellow.

About 3 years ago, I had my bathroom remodeled with Re-Bath, and at first, I was impressed with the job. The location that did the job specifically was in Tampa, FL.

I recently contacted the customer service number, and I was directed to call the Orlando, FL location at (407) 917-****. The customer service representative who took my call informed me that the Tampa location went bankrupt and is no longer in business and that the company is under new ownership and the Orlando location will handle all business. Upon completion of the job, I was told by the Re-Bath sales representative that in the event that I have any issues in the future with the bath, I have a lifetime warranty for the job. The reason for my recent phone call on February 9, 2026, was to express my concern with the rapid deterioration of my recently remodeled bathroom.

First of all, the two shelves they installed on each side of the tub are detaching, and we hardly put any stuff on them. Secondly, the caulking that was used to seal the bottom of the tub was not of good quality, and it has mold and black spots all over. Instead of being white, it is turning yellowish, and we have been using the products the technicians recommended to clean the entire tub. I was told that they would send a technician to assess the situation within 2 or 3 days since the job is still under warranty, and it has been more than 10 days since I contacted them.

When trying to contact them to address my request, the call goes straight to voicemail, and they do not bother to call back. This is the company that, in order to gain your business, offers you promises, and then when you need them to file a claim or complaint, they disappear, avoid you, and ignore you. With all of this being said, please be very cautious about choosing the right company to complete any type of project for your home. I invested a large amount of money to get this project done, and this is what I get in return.

Please read the reviews before you decide to move forward with this company or any other. I will not recommend Re-Bath to anyone for their lack of integrity and high cost.

Pros:
  • Job was completed on time
Cons:
  • Lack of integrity and trust

Preferred solution: I would like to get my tub recalked and the falling shelves reglued. I want to have a warrantee for the money that I have invested.

User's recommendation: Please do not trust this company for your home projects

Disastisfaction with product - damage and white coming off shower floor

AI Highlights
  • - Two doors were scratched.
  • - Floor panel color is peeling.
  • - Bleach on grout is used; avoid hardware to protect warranty.
  • - Buyer regrets the purchase.

Installers did a great initial prep job but one of the doors they installed was scratched. they replaced after a couple of weeks but in the process scratched the other door!

THEN, following their precise cleaning instructions we noticed the white color is coming off the 'floor' panel...>We both wear glasses so didnt notice until we were on our hands and knees cleaning the floor of the shower. The salesman lied and said the grout would never get colored or mildew under it but the Installers and paperwork said we had to use Clorox Bleach spray once or twice a week on the grout but DO NOT get it on any of the hardware or void the warranty will be voided. I am scent sensitive and my nose burned for hours after applying Clorox bleach.

BUYER'S REGRET!!! Not NOT NOT worth the $12,000!

Paid 8k for a shower that didnt last any longer than the 700 dollar one i installed myself. Their lifetime warranty seems to be pure fiction

Original review Dec 17, 2024
On Tuesday 12-17 I contacted Re Bath by phone and left a message, no response was received. Two call were placed 12-18 no mess left, same recording.

On Friday 12-20 went to their office about 9:15 no one there about 9:30 a very nice installer arrived and spook with us. About 9:30 someone arrived. My main concern was we were to have our bath installed in Jan after have it changed from Nov, and we were going out of town and wanted an update on the installment date. When asked she said she never got the call.

She explained we were scheduled for Jan 20th, but they were hoping to install it during the time we would be gone. This could have all been done with a call or email our ph#s were correct Poor Customer Service I did try to email, but your email would not go through

I have contacted the company. It’s going to take a lot more effort to bring these people to answer for deceptive business practices.

Original review Jul 25, 2024

RE-BATH in coordination with Lowes came into my home and in what I thought was going to be a bathroom remodel. True they came and worked, BUT !

The workmanship was subpar and they only remodeled half of the bathroom installing only a tub, wall around, and flooring in a 5 by 10 for $13,500.

This was out of the Opelika, Alabama Lowes Store and Dothan Alabama RE-BATH.

Buyer Beware of Lowes and RE-BATH in Alabama. For $13,500 in my opinion and the opinion of others including Realtors and the opinion of other installers this job was deceptive business practices at best !

Cons:
  • Poor workmanship

AI Highlights
  • - Shower replacement began March 29, taking 6 days.
  • - Floor cracked; it was replaced.
  • - I missed 3 workdays; asked for 10% off; refused.

I signed up for a shower replacement on March 29 of this year. It was supposed to take two days to complete, but it finally got completed on June 20, 2014, due to backordered items.

When they installed the shower, they cracked my floor and had to replace it. What was supposed to take two days now took six. I asked the company for reimbursement for the three extra days, but they declined, stating that they had rectified the floor issue. They are absolutely right; they did fix the floor.

However, I had to miss three extra days of work without pay because of their mistake. I think it would be only fair if they gave me a 10% discount, but again, they refused.

The sales people lie and then tell you that you misunderstood them

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Chris Chiles pitched a remodel and claimed tile would be removed.
  • - Floating floor installed over two tile layers; cost $16,500 with $8,000 down.

Chris Chiles arrived at my son's home and began his sales pitch. When asked if the contractor took the tile off the floor, he said absolutely!

Well, When they started the job, they put a floating floor over two layers of tile. When we called Chris, his answer was "Oh you must have misunderstood me". No, three grown adults were there and we all asked the same question and all got the same answer. Also, Chris made a few phone calls when we asked if they could do the project in 4 to 6 weeks he said yes!

We had to call him and get upset with him to schedule the project. Again, he said "oh you must have misunderstood me. No Chris , we did not. You just wanted to make a sale when we said we were going to contact another company.

You quickly wrote up the quote and when we called the company to let you know that we have our own hardware for the shower one week later, we were told that we could not get a refund on the shower head, faucet and towel bar. $16,500.00 deal with $8000.00 down. Should have cancelled immediately when we heard that.

THANK YOU REBATH FOR NOT BEING TRUTHFUL TO A YOUNG COUPLE THAT SPENT THEIR WHOLE SAVINGS TO GET A BATHROOM REMODEL. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

Re-Bath Knoxville bait and switch

  • - There were bait-and-switch tactics.
  • - A zero-barrier shower proposal was signed.
  • - Five days later they couldn't warranty it and offered an option.
  • - Cannot recommend.
Updated by user May 17, 2024

They said they couldn’t warranty the work that they had specifically listed in the contract. So we went with West Shore same shower but with warranty. Much more expensive but worth it.

Original review May 09, 2024

Buyer beware: Re-Bath used the old bait and switch on me. They gave me a written proposal for a zero barrier shower, I signed the contract and gave them my credit card.

Five days later, I received a text message that said they can't warranty what they proposed, and suggested something entirely different. My salesperson was embarrassed and apologized as it wasn't his fault.

Be very careful when trying to do business with this company. I cannot recommend a company that does business like this.

Preferred solution: Apology

Incorrect information

AI Highlights
  • - Lowes pointed me to ReBath for installation.
  • - ReBath installs only if they supply the tub; price would be higher than Lowe's.

When contemplating the purchase of an Endurance Walk-in tub from LOWES, I asked about installation and was directed to ReBath (Seattle). When I contacted ReBath they said they did do the installations- But not for customer purchased items.

In other words, ReBath had to supply the tub.

I'm sure that the price ReBath chardged for the tub would be much higher than what I could purchase it for-Especially with my MY LOWES/Military discount. I may still purchase the tub but will hire a local plumber to assist with the installation.

Rebath is not a good contractor. They misrepresented the size that they were going to make the shower and when they removed the old shower it was too late to cancel. The manager was extremely rude.

The shower door was on back order and the trim didn't match the faucets. I know we were very clear with the sales man on how big we wanted the shower.

He took measurements and pictures. Frank Thomas
